Three Branches of United States Government: Roles and Responsibilities

1. Executive Branch

The Executive Branch is responsible for implementing and enforcing laws passed by Congress. It is headed by the President of the United States who serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, appoints federal officials, and can veto legislation.

2. Legislative Branch

The Legislative Branch, also known as Congress, is responsible for making laws. It is divided into two chambers - the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate confirms presidential appointments and ratifies treaties, while the House of Representatives initiates revenue-raising bills.

3. Judicial Branch

The Judicial Branch is responsible for interpreting the laws and ensuring they are constitutional. It is composed of the Supreme Court and lower federal courts. The Supreme Court has the final say on legal matters and can declare laws unconstitutional.
