Tell me about a time when you had to make a difficult decision as a General Manager and how you handled it
As a General Manager, I once faced a challenging situation where I had to make a decision to restructure our team in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness. It was a difficult decision as it involved letting go of some long-time employees who were not meeting performance expectations.
However, I approached the situation with transparency and empathy. I communicated the reasons for the restructuring clearly to the team and offered support to those who were being let go in finding new opportunities. I also made sure to involve the remaining team members in the decision-making process to ensure buy-in and collaboration.
In the end, the restructuring led to a more streamlined and cohesive team that was able to achieve better results. It was a hard decision to make, but by handling it with honesty and compassion, I was able to navigate through the challenges successfully.
