Focus Keyword: Vertebrates vs. Invertebrates
Vertebrates and invertebrates are two main categories of animals in the animal kingdom. The primary difference between them lies in their skeletal system.
Vertebrates:
Vertebrates are animals that have a backbone or a spinal column made up of small bones called vertebrae. This includes mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish.
Invertebrates:
Invertebrates, on the other hand, do not have a backbone or a spinal column. They make up the vast majority of animal species, including insects, arachnids, mollusks, and crustaceans.
Despite this difference in skeletal structure, both vertebrates and invertebrates play vital roles in the ecosystem and have diverse adaptations for survival.
