Can you describe a situation where you had to handle a difficult employee and how you resolved it?
During my time as an HR Manager, I encountered a situation where an employee was consistently underperforming and displaying disruptive behavior in the workplace. I first addressed the issue by having a private conversation with the employee to understand the root cause of their behavior.
After identifying the challenges they were facing, I worked with the employee to create a performance improvement plan that outlined clear goals, expectations, and timelines for improvement. I provided support and resources to help the employee meet their goals and regularly followed up to monitor their progress.
Through open communication, coaching, and support, the employee was able to turn around their performance and behavior. This experience taught me the importance of addressing issues proactively, providing support to employees in need, and leveraging a performance improvement plan to facilitate positive change in the workplace.
