Interview Question: Can you describe a situation where you had to resolve a conflict between team members in the warehouse?
During my time as a Warehouse Manager, I encountered a situation where two team members had a conflict over the allocation of storage space for incoming inventory. One team member believed that the space should be divided equally, while the other thought it should be based on the size and priority of the products.
To resolve this conflict, I called a meeting with both team members to hear their perspectives and concerns. I facilitated an open and honest discussion, allowing each team member to express their viewpoints and listen to each other's reasoning.
Through effective communication and active listening, we were able to find a compromise that satisfied both team members. We agreed to allocate storage space based on a combination of product size and priority, as well as implementing a rotation system to ensure fair distribution in the long term.
Ultimately, this experience taught me the importance of conflict resolution skills and the value of finding solutions that benefit the team as a whole.
