Quality Engineer Interview Question: Describe a Situation Where You Solved a Tough Problem Related to Product Quality

As a Quality Engineer, I encountered a situation where a key product component was consistently failing quality tests, leading to a high rejection rate. To address this issue, I conducted a root cause analysis and discovered that the supplier had changed the manufacturing process without notifying us.

I immediately reached out to the supplier to understand the reasons behind the change and to collaborate on finding a solution. After several discussions and on-site visits, we identified the root cause of the component failures and worked together to implement corrective actions.

Through close monitoring and testing, we successfully resolved the quality issues, resulting in a significant reduction in rejection rates and ultimately improving the overall product quality.
